Today, the September Equinox, the threshold of Autumn is traversed. The leaves are changing quickly outside my monk quarters at the Theravada monastery where I am staying. The cool breeze blows through the open windows and refreshes the air. I hang my monk robes on a hook on the wall. They absorb the subtle scent of the wind which always awakens my senses. This is far more preferable to my own body odour.
Long ago I enjoyed blogging, and writing in general, and I find that it is an excellent way to vamp up my prose and style before working on a book (more on that later). Introspective writing is an excellent way to organize thoughts for one’s own benefit, with a side effect of potentially helping other people with their practice, and I enjoy it immensely. Of note is my curious reliance on the Oxford Comma, without which I find it difficult to express the nuances of my thinking. I partially blame my undergraduate philosophy professors for that.
Moving forward, I hope to document my daily life — encounters with people and places, with photo and video to accompany my journal entries. I hope that you will enjoy visiting, commenting, and supporting my efforts. Sadhu.
