Open Road Dharma began as an organic evolution of Bhante’s Buddhist practice. Moving from place to place, like the Buddha did, fosters a special kind of cultivation environment.
Bhante does not reside full time in a temple. Instead, he travels and visits temples, monasteries, spiritual teachers and ordinary people. He is fundraising to buy a mobile Kuti (monk hut) as an itinerant monk, camping in nature whenever possible for solitude and practice. This lifestyle departs from the traditional monastic model and requires the infrastructure of support from the laity to sustain it.
